It features news of new art-based and commercial uses of screens in public space, it covers an important emerging area of public design. The idea comes from Mirjam Struppek, who by the sound of her concept of urban screens is a pretty idealistic person:«URBAN SCREENS [are] defined as various kinds of dynamic digital displays in urban space such as LED boards, plasma screens, information terminals but also intelligent architectural surfaces being used in consideration of a well balanced, sustainable urban society - Screens that support the idea of public space as space for creation and exchange of culture and the formation of public sphere by criticism and reflection.» |
