Asian Public Art News
Art and similar interventions in public space. Coverage moves outwards from Singapore through Asia to the rest of the world. Like nothing else, the idea of "public art" exposes the contradiction inherent in our ideas of "the public" and of "art".

How can this not make you happy? Spencer Tunick and the nudes of Mexico City

Lyon, 11 September 2005

Talk about public art... er... yes, that's about as public as you can get. American artist Spencer Tunick is well known for orchestrating large gatherings of naked people in cities around the world. Next in his sights: Mexico City, said to be his largest. See this article from the Art Newspaper.

How can you not enjoy this imagery. Here a photo from Tunick's installation/performance in France in September 2005. There are many images of Tunick's installations available at Flickr... of course!

Hello,
In addition to man is cargo, I was in Lyon as well, and together with a few other like minded folks we run a group started by man is cargo, www.spencertunickforum.org a place for more of Spencer's art, news and personal photos, accounts of installations, etc.
Do come over and see what the buzz is about Mexico.
